The Cancer Support Center is warm & welcoming not-for-profit organization that provides FREE, comprehensive services to families and individuals affected by cancer.
These FREE services include:
+Support groups: for patients, caregivers and bereaved (all ages)
+Individual & family counseling for all ages
+Drop-in Networking Groups for those with a similar cancer diagnosis
+Stress-reduction: massage, meditation, Reiki, healing touch, creative expression
+Wellness & Exercise: Yoga for (Healing) Cancer
+Cancer Education, Nutrition and Social programs
+Lending library and resource center
+Speakers Bureau to visit your business or civic group; new volunteers welcome.
+All services are provided by licensed professionals who specialize in cancer care.

All programs are funded by local, community support; we do NOT receive ongoing state or federal funding.
The Village Door at 2019 Ridge Road in Homewood, is a donation/consignment shop of fine home furnishings, whose proceeds benefit The Cancer Support Center.

The South Suburban Family Shelter is a not-for-profit agency which provides comprehensive services to families in which domestic violence exists. These services include:
24-Hour Hotline
Emergency Shelter
Counseling for victims and their children
Abuser Intervention program
Court Advocacy
Medical Advocacy
Prevention program
Professional trainings

All victim services are free of charge and available in English and Spanish.
South Suburban Family Shelter owns 2 resale shops which benefit SSFS and The Sanctuary, a program for homeless women and their children. Volunteers are welcome, as are donations.
